Shippo, literally meaning seven treasures, originated from the seven treasures in the Buddhist scriptures such as gold, silver, lapis lazuli, agate…etc., is Japanese name for metalworking technique for cloisonné enamelware, that melts the glaze with high temperature and forms the decoration of the original metal figure, and the forms of which are of similarity to the Chinese enamels.
